Wrapping up the School Year

So I posted in January so it's catch up time again...

I just can't get enough of this boy. He kept busy in the winter with indoor baseball practice for Fusion and playing on his school Basketball team.

Millie played in her first tennis tourney in Indy. She did great and won third place against some really great competition.

Reed had done an amazing job catching for his baseball team.

Millie kicked butt on her middle school team playing number 1 singles all season on a 5-8th grade team as a 6th grader and them won first place in the Clark/Floyd Tourney playing number 1 singles.

They both ask me every free minute we have to take them to a court to hit. We really need our own court, it would save me a lot of driving!

Well This Is Embarrassing

Maybe Blogger deleted some of my posts because has it been July since I have posted anything? I apologize so let me catch you up with the highlights...

Millie played her last game as a full time member of Fusion, they won of course. The team all wished her well, it was very sad.

School started, Millie in 6th and Reed in 3rd.

We got our first egg!! It was tiny so we each had one bite.

Reed started being a server at church.

Millie decided to run Cross Country for her school team but her foot continued to give her problems so she didn't finish the season.

Reed played some Fusion Baseball with Rick as head coach and got second place in their first tourney!

Millie turned 11!

My mom took us to Disney for Fall Break! Then Hurricane Matthew crashed our fun and we came back early. Seems the last time we went to Disney someone else crashed and we had to come back early...

We lost 2 of our Chickens to some beast that lives in our woods but we got 5 new Amber Links.

Rick and Reed drove to Texas and bought a new tractor.

Millie played some basketball for her school.

These 2 cuties cheered her on...

Then she played more basketball.

Millie won a major award of STAR student at her school.

Reed played some more baseball.

Millie played some more tennis.

We built a swanky Chicken Coop.

Reed was an angel in his school Christmas program.

And now we are pretty much caught up. Reed is currently playing in SMK's rec basketball league and keeping busy with that and Fusion Practices. Millie is playing in a Hoosier Hills Basketball league and keeping busy with viola, Youth Symphony and Tennis at UofL. Both of them are doing great at school, one has to work a little harder at it than the other one...

Happy Birtday, Reed!

He made it to 8 which for him means NO MORE BOOSTER SEAT! He was very excited about that.

Science Center

We took a little trip across the bridge to the science center last week. It was okay but compared to the Indianapolis Children's Museum, it was a bit disappointing. They still had fun and we walked to The Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch so that was a nice end!

Both the boys passed out on the way home! I guess that means it was a good day!

Monroe Shine Tennis

Our third tennis tourney of the summer was a fund raiser for Floyd Central tennis and Millie has been playing in this since she was 6. This year Reed wanted to play too and they both did great! We had many rain delays but Reed thought it was fun to go out and dry the courts so he didn't mind.

Reed won several games and 1 set. He was playing against much older boys, one was Millie's age and going into 6th grade at Highland Hills. I was very proud of him and he says he wants to play more. His age group of 10s is hard to find but we will keep ours eyes open for the more opportunities for him to play.

Millie finished first place again in 12 singles. There were some girls she had played before and some she hadn't. Even though she is 10 playing up one age group in the 12s, she decided the next one she wants to play up in 14s since that the age she could be playing against when she plays middle school tennis.
