Happy Birtday, Reed!

He made it to 8 which for him means NO MORE BOOSTER SEAT! He was very excited about that.

Science Center

We took a little trip across the bridge to the science center last week. It was okay but compared to the Indianapolis Children's Museum, it was a bit disappointing. They still had fun and we walked to The Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch so that was a nice end!

Both the boys passed out on the way home! I guess that means it was a good day!

Monroe Shine Tennis

Our third tennis tourney of the summer was a fund raiser for Floyd Central tennis and Millie has been playing in this since she was 6. This year Reed wanted to play too and they both did great! We had many rain delays but Reed thought it was fun to go out and dry the courts so he didn't mind.

Reed won several games and 1 set. He was playing against much older boys, one was Millie's age and going into 6th grade at Highland Hills. I was very proud of him and he says he wants to play more. His age group of 10s is hard to find but we will keep ours eyes open for the more opportunities for him to play.

Millie finished first place again in 12 singles. There were some girls she had played before and some she hadn't. Even though she is 10 playing up one age group in the 12s, she decided the next one she wants to play up in 14s since that the age she could be playing against when she plays middle school tennis.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Millie's softball team played in a Nationals tourney in Myrtle Beach so that's where our vacation was this summer. Millie has decided to stop playing Fusion softball because it takes so much time but we still had this tourney to play and one more after we got back. She really didn't want to play softball on her vacation but she was a good sport and still gave it her full effort. Her team had the ability to win this tourney but they had some mistakes and just weren't able to pull it off. The team that knocked us out of the bracket ended up winning the tourney. We were happy for them because they were from Indianapolis so we were hoping they would win if we didn't.

The kids were happy to be done a day earlier than planned so we could do the big ropes course we kept driving past on the way to the fields.

Reed got to be in a pizza eating contest!

We all had a good time but were happy to be home. And next year WE will get to decide where WE want to go on vacation which is very exciting!

Swimming

Reed enjoyed his swimming lessons this year. He was very excited to see his best friend was in the same group!

Kelsey Martin Champion

Millie's second tourney of the summer was the Kelsey Martin Classic to raise money for her middle school tennis team. She same in first in singles and second in doubles. Unfortunately, her partner was not feeling well and had to stop playing in the final game.
