Fidelity Fiduciary Bank

If you invest your tuppence
Wisely in the bank
Safe and sound
Soon that tuppence,
Safely invested in the bank,
Will compound

And you'll achieve that sense of conquest
As your affluence expands
In the hands of the directors
Who invest as propriety demands

You see, Millie, you'll be part of
Railways through Africa
Dams across the Nile
Fleets of ocean greyhounds
Majestic, self-amortizing canals
Plantations of ripening tea

All from tuppence, prudently
Fruitfully, frugally invested
In the, to be specific,
In the Dawes, Tomes
Mousely, Grubbs
Fidelity Fiduciary Bank!

Now, Millie,
When you deposit tuppence in a bank account
Soon you'll see
That it blooms into credit of a generous amount
Semiannually
And you'll achieve that sense of stature
As your influence expands
To the high financial strata
That established credit now commands

You can purchase first and second trust deeds
Think of the foreclosures!
Bonds! Chattels! Dividends! Shares!
Bankruptcies! Debtor sales!

Opportunities!
All manner of private enterprise!
Shipyards! The mercantile!
Collieries! Tanneries!
Incorporations! Amalgamations! Banks!

You see, Millie
Tuppence, patiently, cautiously trustingly invested
In the, to be specific,
In the Dawes, Tomes
Mousely, Grubbs
Fidelity Fiduciary Bank!
(Lyrics from Millie's favorite movie right now, Mary Poppins)

First, she sorted the coins and called them by name, Quarter, Penny, Dime and Nickel. Then, she helped put them in stacks to count and finally helped put them in rolls. She walked into the bank and up to the counter where she handed them her 'tuppence'. What can I say, she is my daughter, this may be my proudest day ever!

Still Building...Still Waiting

Rick is still working on the deck addition. It is in it's final stages. Just a little electrical and the screen and we will be ready for furniture. Millie was a big help when Rick and I were staining the posts last weekend. She was in charge of the tape and took her job very seriously. When she was finished taping, the thought she needed to do some cutting and drilling with her tools. So, don't let Rick claim he did it all himself, he had a good little helper.

And, Reed is still hanging in there. I will find out this Thursday if they are going to induce me on the 10th so keep your fingers crossed. Here is a picture of me for those of you who have been asking. I don't normally do pictures so consider this a rare occasion.

Big Day

We had a 2 major events today. First, when Millie and I showed up at play group this morning, they had a surprise shower for me and Millie. It was so nice of them all, I really do have a great group of friends down here, we are very lucky. In addition to getting Reed some very cute things, Millie was not forgotten. She got a great shirt that says "Big Sister's Rock" which she ran around telling her dad it says "Millie M. Rocks". She also got a baby doll which she named Buzz and she is totally in love with it. She has fed it about 10 times today and changed it's diaper and even took a nap with him, very cute. I hope she likes Reed as much. Also, some great coloring books to play with at the hospital when she visits Reed. Thanks so much all of you, you are great!

Second, it rained! That was very exciting because we have not had rain at our house since Memorial Day Weekend. It only rained for about an hour, but I won't complain. Millie had fun jumping in the puddles when Rick got home and the best thing about the rain is that I let Millie watch Mary Poppins when it rains so she got to watch that after her nap which made her day!

And, this is from yesterday but I am a little behind. Millie started asking me if I had a guitar, not sure where that came from but I do so we got it out. She loved it and played for about 1/2 hour. She is quite a musician. I tried to play some, but my tuner ran out of batteries on the 2nd to last sting and I can not do it without one so Stairway To Heaven and Brown Eyed Girl sounded a little funny. She did not seem to mind, although she would have been more impressed with Twinkle Twinkle Star which is what she kept requesting.

It's just hot...and dry

It's just plain hot here. Rick and Millie played in her pool yesterday. I watched for a little but unless you are in it, even in the shade it was too hot to stay out. Millie and I went out this morning for a little but I could not take it anymore. It is already pushing 90 degrees and I was about to melt. I would get in but I may not be able to get back out so I figured I would play it safe. We also need some rain, in a bad way. I know this may be hard for our family in Indiana to understand but it is very dry here. I am going to hold out one more day before I water the grass, there is a chance of rain tonight and tomorrow, cross your fingers...

A good mom or just crazy??

Well, Rick is still out of town and I am feeling it, I am very tired. Reed never stops moving and now that I am paying more attention to the contractions since yesterday's Doctor's appointment, I have noticed that I am having quite a few. Nothing real strong but they are there which is opening my eyes to that fact that I need to start getting ready for this baby. As tired as I was today, I still managed to get to the bank, pick up Rx, get milk and get Millie a new radio because the one in her room decided to stop working for good last night. She goes to bed so well and all she asks is that I turn on her music. So I had to go get her a CD player today. Fortunately, she is of the age that she does really well when we run errands but I have to admit, I almost dropped her trying to get her in the cart at Target and again, in the parking lot trying to get her out.

So, this afternoon I was doing my best to not turn on the TV and let Millie watch while I laid down. So I figured the easiest thing on me was to get the sprinkler out so I could sit while she played. Well, the hose was in the back of the house so I had to drag it around to the front. Then I could not find the sprinkler which I finally did find. Before all that, I had to try on all Millie's bathing suites to see which fit her best/worst. We may be swimming tomorrow at a friend's house so I did not want to use the best one today. So when I finally get it all set up, I sit down (yes, it was 96 degrees today and we have NO shade at all to sit in) she wants me to play in it too. She plays in it a little but she sure would rather have a playmate with her. The neighbors came over for about 2 minutes which she loved but then they had to leave because they wanted to go back home. So then Millie did not want to play anymore. Great, put everything away and now we are inside and she is playing trains. Why didn't I just think of that in the first place?

Reed Update

I haven't mentioned Reed in a while but he is still cooking. I am at the 34 week mark and everything is good. I had an ultrasound again today and you could see his little mouth moving, he was singing to us I think. He was still growing but his head is measuring about 2 weeks ahead of his due date. But, we all knew he would have big brains like his sister and mom...and dad I guess, so that is no surprise. I also had a NST which is when they monitor his heartbeat and compare it to his movements and the movements of my uterus. I was on the thing for nearly and hour (I think they forgot about me) but for about 40 minutes, it was showing I was having contractions about every 3-4 minutes. My Doctor was sick today but the other Doctor did not seem to think it was anything to get worked up about. She just told me to keep an eye on them. Well, easier said than done considering I could not feel them. Guess maybe I should take it a little easier than I have been. I was going to cut the grass today since Rick is out of town but maybe I will make it wait 'till he gets back.

We did Nothing!?!

So, what did we do today? Went to play group, played playdoh, did puzzles, played candyland, played trains, read books, played the piano, played chimney ball (an invention of ours) told stories and much more. Rick comes home and asks Millie "Millie, what did you do today?" Her response is simply..."Nothing". I think I will show her what a day of "nothing" is and see if she likes it.
