| He just avoided this crash, he said he jumped over it. The boy on our team in the crash actually ended up coming in first place. A little crash didn't stop him. |

Cross Country
Reed had his first cross country meet this past week. He has been training very hard and out of 179 racers in second grade across the county, Reed finished in 10th place with a time of 7'33.81. They run the boys and girls at the same time so out of the boys, he finished 8th place. I was very proud of him!! He got a nice medal to hang on his rack and beat his goal which was to finish in the top 20. Hopefully he can do it again this week.
Reindeer Games and Moe
Millie's Fusion team has had a few tourneys and earned a few more trophies. At the Reindeer Games in Santa Claus, they got more than a trophy, we came home with Moe, our new kitten.
Millie had a teammate stay with us at Rick's parent's house and they went to visit his Uncle Paul's farm one morning. Well, Brooklyn, Millie's friend, found kittens and brought one back. So now we have Moe, a combo of Millie and Brooklyn's last names.
He adorable and likes to do homework.

Football
Reed is playing football again this year, number 62. Rick is coaching and they are still in the same league but are playing for a different team. He is playing for Southern Indiana Catholic this year. It's the first year they have had a team in the league for this age group and so far are the only undefeated team so they are doing pretty good I'd say.
Reed is still kind of timid when it comes to tackling but he has improved a lot since last year. He is tuned in to the game and actually knows what's going on and can talk about the plays afterward. He is really enjoying it and Millie likes being the water girl.

Indiana State Fair
Millie won the Floyd County 4H talent show over the summer and qualified to compete in Indianapolis in the State Fair. She played Piano Man and did great!! We were all proud of her and we enjoyed the day of skipping school and work to go watch her perform.
Millie's 10th Birthday
Yep, I am behind again but Millie did have her birthday last month. She had some friends over as well as family. She decided she wanted her room redecorated this year for her birthday so she got a lot of gift cards and money. We have purchased some of the big items and now we just have to paint and get a few small things. We are hoping to put it all together over fall break. She wants us to wait until we have it all before we use any of it so it's all still in bags waiting for the room to be painted.
She is loving middle school. Her favorite class is orchestra and she is enjoying learning to play the viola. There is a lot of school work so between her softball and basketball teams and school work, she is always busy. We have enjoyed our long Labor Day weekend this weekend to just let the kids chill out and us get some work done. It's been great.
