Millie has 9 more school days left, but who's counting...right? Today was Field Day and they had a ton of activities. Reed and I rode our bikes over so we could watch. They were just warming up when we got there.
Millie was ready to go and even took the warming up very seriously. Even though is was about 85 degrees, the wind was crazy so that helped it not be too terribly hot.

Farewell Karate
Millie and Reed both had their final Karate class today. It was sad, I have to admit. I slightly teared up after both classes when we told the instructors goodbye. It didn't help me that Reed's instructor was crying. It is such an amazing family owned business and they truly care about all of their students, especially the rock stars like my 2 critters. They made them both promise that they would keep at it after we move and they hope to see them both down the road at competitions.
Reed was able to squeeze in one more belt on his last day. He tested for his green belt and did a great job. His instructor has him doing things she has never had Little Dragons do before and he rocks at it. Of course it helps that Millie is learning these things in her class and so she practices on him teaches him these things at home.
He ran his Kata
He did a few take downs on his instructor
Earned his new green belt with ease!
At Millie's class that evening her instructor let them break some boards. She did great.
Saying goodbye to her instructor was hard too. Not so much saying goodbye but hearing what he was telling her was so sweet. I hope we can find something as good after we move but I'm not holding my breath. They are pretty fantastic at Westfield.

Reed The Biking Champ
Although I don't have photos, I just have to share Reed's major accomplishment from this past weekend. Our house in Westfield has access to The Monon Trail which is a bike trail/greenway that runs all the way to Indianapolis. We love to ride on it. About 5 miles from our house is a super yummy restaurant called Bub's. We have ridden there several times to eat but have always pulled Reed in the bike cart. This time we let Reed start riding and we figured we would just put him and his bike in the cart when he got tired. Well, pulling the cart was unnecessary because he rode all the way there and all the back. 10 total miles! The little critter had to peddle his little legs off the entire time because his bike is so tiny. I am sure that may be some kind of world record for a 3 year old but I guess we may never know officially.

My Attempt To Catch Up
This is going to be a quick recap of the past 5 weeks...
Millie got a her Yellow Belt, she rocks and is a Karate superstar.
Reed got his orange belt, no photos but he was the first 3 year old to ever successfully run a Kata. He too is a Karate superstar.
We sold our house.
We played at my mom and dad's house during spring break, I love it there.
We found a new house.
Easter at my parents house, Reed busted the Pinata, fun was had by all.
The Crew.
All caught up now. I feel better.

Reed And His Wheels
Reed loves to be outside. He's usually peddling away on something. He has really started to enjoy Millie's Razor scooter as well. He says his Spiderman one is for babies. I have a feeling he will be getting one for his birthday.

Just because I have not blogged for a few weeks doesn't mean we have not been busy. To sum it up, this photo speaks for itself.

Grandparent's Day
Friday was Grandparent's Day at Millie's school. She was very excited to have Mammy and I there with her. The timing could not have been better because it was during the 2 hours Reed is at Preschool.
First Mammy filled out a little paper about her memories of first grade. Then every student had drawn a self portrait of themselves earlier in the week and they were hanging on the walls and the grandparents had to guess which one was their little one.
Later the kids sang some cute songs and recited some poems about grandparents.
Last they worked on a cute project and wrote things they like to do with each other.
After a few refreshments, we had to leave so the kids could get back to the serious business of spelling tests.
I really enjoyed watching Millie and my mom get to spend this special moment with each other. We are very blessed to have her in our lives.

Louisville Zoo
Rick and the critters and I made a quick trip south on Saturday to meet several of my friends for a play date at the Louisville Zoo.
My kids have been there once but neither of them remembered it. Reed was pretty new and Millie was only 3 so it was basically a first for both of them. We bought a membership though so I see many more trips in our future.
We grabbed Jacob along the side of I65 on the way and took him with us as well. I like to get him whenever I can and my kiddos loved having him there with us.
It sure was a beautiful day and I think we all realized when we got home that perhaps we should have had sunscreen on. I guess it's that time of year already.
They all had fun but I know we were pretty tired by the time we left. We had had a late night the night before at a softball clinic for Millie. Then we had to get up pretty early to head to Louisville. Reed even claimed the stroller before we were finished!
