It stopped raining and we were able to start our second pool play game against the Dragons. This team was going to give us a run for our money. It was 0-0 after the first inning. We were home team and in the second inning we held them to 0 and we were up to bat. We had no outs and our batter had a full count. It started raining. Off the field. Then it poured and they cancelled games for the day. We would start that game in progress the next morning.
The next morning (Thursday) we started right where we left off. We got up 3-2 on them and then guess what? It started raining. If you are keeping track, we have not even played 4 full innings yet and we are in day 3 of the tournament. They canceled games for the rest of the day due to too much rain. Thursday...
Back up to Wednesday evening and that was opening ceremonies for all the teams at the local minor league field in Clearwater. There is a gift exchange and pin swap scheduled for the teams. Fortunately the rain stopped but it was a lot of craziness with all those girls trying to find the teams they were supposed to gift swap with and then walking around trading pins with as many teams as they could. Our team had a pin designed and it's neat to trade them and see how many different team pins you can get. No one actually watched the minor league game being played and it would have been lot easier if this had all happened at a local park instead of during a game. Oh well. We team left on the bus before the game was over since they had to play in the morning. Have I mentioned that the bus picks up all the girls and coaches and transports them to every practice, game and event. It's pretty nice. The girls are loving it!
It's so nice that many of the girls all have little brothers, they have a blast together.
